Hessonite, or Gomed, is the gemstone of Rahu, the north lunar node. In Vedic tradition it is associated with focus, protection and clarity through unsettled periods. It is a honey-to-cinnamon coloured garnet, valued for a warm transparent colour, and is traditionally set in silver or a mixed metal and worn on the middle finger, often on a Saturday.
